"Patience is the companion of wisdom." - St. Augustine

Patience, so important yet sometimes so difficult.  As I ponder thoughts on process, product and how they relate to patience, I realize that patience is more important than we sometimes like to believe.  I struggle with patience.  I am a hard worker, a big dream setter, always reaching, but willing to work towards my goals, so when I am recently told to practice 'patience' - I am taking a much needed step back to meditate and ponder the word and action of patience.
Patience in life - being patient with those around us.  Patience in art - waiting for layers and layers to dry, waiting for some really great sales, and fortunately they do come.  Patience in realizing how very important the process of my art is and how important  it is to my being as a person.  Patience and faith as I show up at the easel most days while my mind is filled with a creative mess, trying to just channel that energy into some productive work.  Somehow it happens and I am thankful for the opportunity to practice patience.
