"Most people never run far enough on their first wind to find out they've got a second.  Give your dreams all you've got and you'll be amazed at the energy that comes out of you." - William James

What a wonderful week here in the studio!  I got a little painting time in, had some fabulous collectors stop in to buy some new work, created a very special flower arrangement for a very special friend of a very special collector and friend of mine, walked/ran the Bellin Run (first adventure for me and so fun!) and so much more!   Now, this windy Sunday I am 'working', yes working on book work, portfolio's and just trying to get my studio organized.  As my good friend and very 'wise' business woman, Connie, would say...we're living the dream! - HA!
I think a pre-requisite in 'life' - that big darn book of life - should contain a phrase that .... everyone should own their own small business first....then I am sure to say that they would really appreciate how lucky they are when they do work for someone else!  Not complaining - I LOVE what I do - but it is overwhelming at times and I struggle with balancing it all...needless to say when I get done here I NEED to head to my yoga mat - for sure!
So....what I am getting at here is...support all those small businesses and independent artists, all those locally owned restaurants and the list goes on - and - on...we all work so hard but obviously LOVE what we do!  Enjoy your Sunday everyone!
"Forest Floor" is a new painting that will be traveling with me to Madeline Island for my show opening at Bell Street Gallery this weekend!  I am looking forward to some Island R & R!!!!

"With courage you will dare to take risks, have the strength to be compassionate and the wisdom to be humble.  Courage is the foundation of integrity."  - Keshavan Nair

Patterns, schedules, studio time, quiet time, fresh air....all building compassionate strength, clearing the mind so that one can really get to work on some serious art.  Lately I have been a little 'side-tracked' and my studio time has been at a minimum...could it finally be summer?
Delivering art, spending time with friends, getting the studio organized, riding my bike, chillin' with some yoga, life is FULL, full of good things, full of courage.
So even though I am not putting as much paint to surface at the moment, I know that I am 'gathering' some gusto and courage to get back in the studio and work hard once again.
