COLOR...very important in my work...LINE, TEXTURE..also very important - yet this is nothing I invented ask most artists and they will agree.
COLOR is magical - can be bright and vibrant, grey and soothing...COLOR tells us a lot...TEMPERATURE, MOOD...all things that are very important in a painting.
The more I experiment with different color mixes and combinations, the more I feel my work grows and expands. It is definitely the beautiful mixes of color that keep me actively engaged in my art. Never a day goes by that I don't see COLOR - whether it be in nature or inside my thoughts. COLOR SURROUNDS US. Makes us feel happy or sad.
As I continue to apply paint to paper (or board) I am exploring and enjoying the mixtures and layers that are revealed with a little bit of experimentation...do you find that if you 'expand' out of your comfort zone that good things happen????
