Sharing Space

In life we all have to share.   When I taught my kids art camp this summer here at my studio (which was filled and was a lot of fun) we did an abstract painting which we sectioned into 4 pieces and 'shared' 3 of the pieces with other students.  In the end everyone had 4 really cool sections to put back together into one abstract painting.  So....I did a lot of 'sharing' of my talents this summer with the workshops that I held and now it is time to share my studio/gallery space....
My annual Labor Day Weekend Art Show has been going on for 18 years and this is the weekend that I invite a  few artists to 'share my wall space with'!   This year our theme is "Approaches to Landscape" and features local landscapes and plein-air paintings by Chuck Eaton, Candace Zebell, Lauri Beldo, Susan Perrine, Kay Eaton, Barbara Kane Anderson and myself.  I have to say, I'm finished hanging the show and IT LOOKS FABULOUS!!!!
So, please join us for the opening reception with food and drinks on Friday evening August 31 from 5-7 pm.  Chuck and Kay Eaton will be on the grounds 'plein-air painting' and it's always fun to watch an artist at work!  The show will continue all weekend - Sept 1,2,3 from 9 am - 4 pm.
Thank you for supporting local art!!!

"I feel that the greatest reward for doing is the opportunity to do more." - Jonas Salk

It's been a good year! - I've been able to 'share' my talents and creative gifts by offering some workshops and recently a KIDS ART CAMP!    I taught years ago and then took a several year 'break' to really focus on my own art, however, this year I felt it was time to start 'sharing' my passion again.
I have offered classes here at my studio in collage, mixed media, watercolor and furniture collage as well as a  3 day KIDS ART CAMP!  I will say that 'teaching' is exhausting and a lot more work than I ever imagined, but the results and smiles and pure joy it brought my students was worth every minute of it!
I also had the opportunity to teach a mixed media/collage class at the Library on Madeline Island!  That was a real treat - and I plan to go back next year to offer a collage/journal class.
So, now that classes are over for the year (a new schedule will start in January) I am enjoying re-focusing on my own art, but again I am so thrilled that I was able to 'share' art with many others!!!
Hope you have a creative day....
