I just received acceptance of 3 pieces into the juried show North of the 45th at the Devos Art Museum, Northern Michigan University in Marquette. The show features artists from the midwest -north of the 45th parrallel and opens on Friday, June 4 with an opening reception from 6-8 pm. The exhibition runs through July 25. Always a great show in a wonderful museum-like gallery space.
I've been working on some new oil/cold wax pieces and have been trying some new techniques to un-earth buried layers. It's interesting to bring up layers from 10-20 layers underneath-adds an interesting dimension to the subtle pieces.
Here's another quote from "Trust the Process" - "Try approaching your creative expression in diverse ways. We learn from continual practice, but exercises need variety in order to solicit new responses."
