Back to the studio

Thursday, September 17, 2009

It feels so good to be back at the studio, actually outside working on some new encaustic pieces. Returned from Wausau Festival of Arts this weekend where I took 2nd place, yeah!!! Aspirus Hospital purchased a large piece again this year, they, like Bay Area Medical Center use original, regional artwork on their walls! More business's should do that. Show was nice and sunny and I got to meet many new artists and share tips, horror stories and inspirational thoughts! It was a good show. Now I'm home for a couple weeks with thoughts and sketches coming to my mind constantly for my next body of work.

Labor Day Weekend Show

Wednesday, September 9, 2009

This past weekends open house turned out to be very successful. Many people turned out for the friday night evening reception to enjoy meeting the artists and eating and drinking - it was a beautiful evening. All weekend people came to see the artwork that comprised the invitational art showing of 30+ artists work. In this picture you can see many paintings as well as cement sculpture/wine holder by Ryan Brayak of Escanaba. This showing probably was one of the best here so far!
Yesterday, I took the day off and did some biking and went for lunch with some friends to the Lauerman House in Marinette - great lunch and good friendship, along with exercise! Now I'm getting ready for this weekends show, Wausau Fine Arts Festival, in downtown Wausau, Wisconsin. A wonderful show and hopefully sunny skies!
